With over 30 years of playing experience, Joey grew up playing drums in Loudoun County, VA. Now he plays drums, sings and plays guitar. Sometimes simultaneously.
(1) Drums: Joey started out as a Drummer. He played at Loudoun County High ('94) then later at UVA ('98) in a big band swing orchestra (ala Ellington & Basie). During college he started playing drums for acoustic rock and alternative bands that toured up and down the east coast (even opened for John Mayer once.) Recently he's played for a local country band, an R&B/soul group, a 90's grunge band and Crocodile Rose. Currently he hosts an open mic at the Serenity House in downtown Leesburg (see FB for details).
(2) Guitar: Joey picked up the guitar over 20 years ago simply by being surrounded by talented mates who happened to be...well, mostly guitar players. Musicians are cool like that.
(3) Vocals...at the same time?: It's like learning 3 different languages and trying to get them to happily hang out in the brain. Joey's one man band project came together during Covid.
